Every day there are three plates. Guess the calories, total fat, total carbohydrate and protein in the serving shown.
Easy is one whole food, or a simple staple that's nearly a single ingredient. Medium is a complex, manufactured food you couldn't easily make at home. Hard is a full meal.
You get four guesses per plate. Switch the serving between volume and weight anytime.
After each guess, every number is graded: got it (within 5% for calories, 10% for the rest), close (within 20% / 25%), or off, with an arrow telling you to go higher or lower. Numbers you get lock in.
Fat has 9 calories per gram; carbs and protein have 4. The line under your guesses adds them up for you.
Heads up: the math won't always come out exact. Fiber (in vegetables, fruit, beans and whole grains) and sugar alcohols (in some protein bars and low-sugar snacks) count as carbs on the label but have fewer calories, so some foods have fewer calories than the macros suggest.
Scoring
Finish all three plates to get your score out of 10,000. It's based on how far off you were: calories count for 40%, and fat, carbs and protein 20% each. Each nutrient is judged on the guess that locked it (or your last guess), and extra guesses cost you: 6 points for locking it on guess 2, 9 on guess 3 and 14 on guess 4. Every gray (off) guess adds 4 more points, so close guesses cost less than wild ones.
Harder plates count for more: Hard is 40% of your day, Medium 35% and Easy 25%. A perfect 10,000 means every number exact on the first try.
